Big Creek Trail

We’d been swallowed by the house. It was early Covid days, and folks were gradually emerging from quarantine. So with trails opening up we drove over to the Great Smokies and hiked Big Creek Trail. Not many folks out and those who were kept a respectful distance. Connie took pictures of trillium, fire pink, wild geranium, stonecrop and white clintonia, to name a few. But the river was the thing. So so much water from side streams, including Mouse Creek Falls, feeding roaring Big Creek, so rocky and fast and so full of white water that if you stared at it long enough, it stilled to a river of spun glass.
